First time at this DFC location in Irvine. The place is quite spacious and pleasantly decorated. Tables are relatively far apart so it doesn't feel crowded. Got here at 11:20am and was able to order some breakfast items because they are served until 11:30am. Ordered a variety of standard Hong Kong style cafe dishes to try out: Seafood Congee with Fried Noodles breakfast, Beef Chow Fun, Singapore Style Vermicelli, and Clay Pot Rice with Chicken and Mushrooms. The congee was very good with great texture and fresh and generous ingredients. I liked the fact that their stir fried noodle dishes were all nice and dry, not greasy at all. The Beef Chow Fun came with large slices of really tender beef and was very well prepared. The Singapore Style Vermicelli was also really tasty and came with a generous amount of shrimps and BBQ pork slices. The Fried Noodles that came with the congee breakfast was a bit plain, could have used a little bean sprouts or green onions. The Clay Pot Rice was my least favorite. The chicken was mostly bones and not very flavorful. Service was average. The guy who took our order didn't tell us that the breakfast came with a free drink. I only asked for it later because I knew the breakfast items usually come with a drink. Overall it was a decent meal with very authentic Cantonese food.

Considering there are NO Hong Kong cafes in north OC, as a SGV native I'm very thankful that there's a DFC here in Irvine. Went early Sunday morning so the place only had four tables filled, very quick service. We did the congee breakfast combo with chow mein and a ham and egg macaroni soup with a pineapple bun with butter. Drinks came with the combo which is great. Both the iced lemon tea and iced hk milk tea were great. The chow mein seems to come out the fastest as the staff served every table who ordered it as the side with the chow mein dish first. Chow mein needs more wok hei but this is for all the DFC locations in my opinion. Macaroni soup was standard, just add some white pepper powder to your liking. I think the disappointing item was the pineapple bun which was really small and under toasted (not sure if you can tell from the photo). I ended up taking it home to toast more and it was much better.

Relative to the other DFC's, I believe this one upholds the chain reputation. Quality of food is good, and is satisfying for anyone craving HK style cafe cuisine. Interior is bright and new still (not sure when it opened) so it's welcoming and warm. It certainly can get busy for breakfast so come earlier. Parking is plentiful. I had no issues with service of the waiters. Try one of the porridges, it comes with choice of fried dough, rice roll, or chow mien. And it comes with choice of HK milk tea, lemon tea, coffee, or half milk tea half coffee. All classics.

The Local Cha Chaan Teng in the Heart of Irvine? Pretty sure this location came after the one in the 626, but regardless: cha chaan teng vibes replaced the old Chinese restaurant that was here a while ago. So out with the old, and in with this breath of fresh of air, mixing up the Asian food scene, serving up some of the best HK cafe style cuisine here in Orange County. Came on a Monday over the holiday break, and we were seated promptly. Place was super busy, but we waited maybe 5 minutes tops. Menu is ginormous, and it covers the whole gamut from HK milk tea to pineapple buns to wonton soup to clay pot rice and HK bbq. So what did we order? Triple Combo BBQ Plate. A must order. You know when you walk into a place and see the requisite meats hanging in the window. Screams legit. You have a few great options, and we got the necessary two: roasted pork and duck. If they do this good, you have to come back: and we will! The pork was so tasty and juicy -- not dry like other places -- for both duck and pork, which was truly a delight. But when we bit into the pork belly, the skin was just so crackly crispy and the fatty meat just melted in your mouth by the skin... I got sucked up into BBQ heaven. Definite recommend. Every visit. Wonton Noodle Soup. A solid order. Soup was full and flavorful, but a touch on the light side. Noodles nice and chewy, and the wontons form right, not too soggy. Recommend. HK Style Stir Fried Spare Ribs. A sweet and sour dish with some pork pieces with some bone in there. A surprisingly good dish that had a very decent sauce that had the right balance of the sticky sweetness and sourness. Meat was tender and not tough; the peppers and onions crisp. Can also recommend. The variety is pretty wide; and the portions big. If you want great value and great taste, try the Delicious Food Corner. The name says it all! We will be back for more in the near future.

THE absolute staple in my Chinese immigrant household. If we are craving the itch for HK style food, we no longer have to make the long drive to the 626 for some of our classic favorites and instead drop by Delicious Food Corner in Irvine. Food: 5/5 My dad and I have been here at least every month to get our Cantonese food fix. Some of our favorites: - Chow Fun - Scallop Fried Rice - Roasted Duck (On special occasions, we also order Lobster Noodles as well but it can be pretty heavy.) Service: 3/5 Service here is hit or miss. Although the place is very clean compared to other restaurants, there has been several occasions where our order might get misplaced or some of our dishes would arrive before we get our appetizer. But as a no frills HK style place, I also don't really expect that much but wanted to give future visitors a head ups to align expectations. Parking is plentiful and easy to find.

Pretty good for what you get! I love this place for crispy pork and duck, but they won't be available until lunch. We came here during breakfast time and they have pretty good deals for hk style breakfast. I ordered the ribeye cooked mid rare with black pepper sauce. Overall, pretty tender and nicely cooked, though the cut looks like it gets smaller every time i come back. The basil cream sauce was a little bland though, but the pepper sauce was delicious. We also ordered their dim sum and I have to say I appreciate them coming out nice and hot. Lastly, their clay pots were also great. We always get the pork ribs one (they do take 25 min to prepare). However, the rice to meat portion wasn't the best. Honestly, you can't bank on having the best service here. We had keep turning our head and ask the waiters to come over, but its really typical with all chinese restaurants. The booth seats are great and you get a lot of natural lighting inside. We would still come back since food was great!
